Welcome to Paintball.
Paintball is an exciting leisure activity suitable for both sexes from the age of 12 upwards. A group activity combining
teamwork, strategy and quick thinking. Your visit to Skirmish will be a rewarding and thrilling experience that will make
you want to visit us again and again.
All players are equipped with the latest easy-to-use semi-automatic Paintball guns, biodegradable paintballs, full
camouflage coveralls, and full face Paintball goggles.
During your visit, you and your team will be sent on various exciting and challenging missions utilising Skirmish's
many stimulating games features. All games can be played at your pace. "Attack or Defend", It's your choice!

Planners Guide.
We aim to provide you with a day out that is great value as well as great fun. We are primarily involved in the
provision of Paintball days out, but through our sister companies, Madtrax Bristol and Weston Lodge Shooting Ground we also
provide multi activity days.
Paintball.
In its most basic form Paintball is a game where players are trying to shoot each other, using special "markers"
(paintguns) firing paintballs (a fragile gelatine shell filled with glycerine and food dye, designed to break on impact).
To make the games more interesting we play in woodland which provides natural cover and we have built features like our
50 foot two storey castle. We like to think that we do paintball a little differently and better than our competitors, we
have imaginative games and excellent playing areas, and we also have a real desire to make our guests feel welcome.
We also think that paintball is great fun, and the fun can be enhanced by our staff not just marshalling the games but
participating with the guests, encouraging and consoling them as well as joining in with the fun atmosphere.

Birthday, Stag and Hen Parties.
Whatever the excuse for your special event, whether it's a Stag, Hen or Birthday Party you should be booking it with
Skirmish for a seriously fantastic and wicked time.
We can arrange a fun packed day for you and offer a variety of mix and match all-inclusive deals that will have your
friends laughing about your day's activities well into the future.
Young Guns. (12 - 16 Years)
Skirmish has a specially designed young guns package for 12-16 year olds only. Phone for available dates.
"Why should the adults have all the fun!".
Players will be totally supervised as they are put through their paces. Let the kids experience the excitement of
Skirmish, whilst you enjoy the many local amenities.
Informative safety and game advice is given before the action commences. Games are designed to develop teamwork,
communication skills and leadership qualities in an entertaining, exciting and fun atmosphere.
Furthermore an activity day with Skirmish forges closer relationships between students and staff as groups and
parties are our speciality.
Team Practice.
At Skirmish we offer regular players with their own equipment special "Team Practice" days.
These are held approximately every 6 weeks, when they will play with other "own gun" players.

The Games We Play.
We will usually play 12 organised games for a days paintball , please see our Games Zones page. Skirmish Bristol and
Twilight Zone Paintball are proud to be an active member of the UK Paintball Sports Federation. A body which ensures certain
standards are met, for your safety and enjoyment.

Equipment.
1a. Guns - Our armoury is stocked with tippmann model 98 semi automatic paintguns. For three months we put on trial the
Tippmann, the Inferno, the GZ2000, the Spider, the Mirage, the Boxer, the Stingray, the Thundercat, an Automag and an
Autococker, all of which we knew to be good paintguns. After the trial was over the Tippmann was proven to be the best
because of its ease of use, reliability and low maintenance costs, it also happens that it came out second only to an
Autococker (a £400 gun) in accuracy tests. Also our customers liked the look of the Tippman best.
1b. Uniforms - we in line with the best in the industry we make sure that you are given a clean freshly laundered overall
that fits you. We go one step further in making sure that you have a team uniform that is distinct from the other teams,
as well as team coloured armbands. This helps you to avoid being shot by your own team. We believe this to be exclusive
to Skirmish Bristol and Twilight Zone Paintball.
1c. Goggles - we have two types of goggles. The V-Force system (as used by the presenters on "Mission Paintball"), which
utilise the very latest anti-mist technology, as well as having a simple to change lens, this ensures that the lenses get
changed when they get scratched, not just when we can get time to change them. We also use JT Spectra Goggles which until
the V-Force came along were the best money could buy, and are still the preferred goggles of most professional paintballers.
Anti-mist solution and tissue are always freely available to our guests.
1d. Gloves - all of our guests are provided with a pair of gloves at no extra charge.
1e. Hats - camouflage hats are provided for your use free of charge
1d. Neck protection - available at no extra charge.

If you are dissatisfied with any of the equipment we provide you we will replace it with an alternative more to your suiting.
Our Games.
Because we have a regular marshalling crew we would get bored if we played the same games time after time, so all of the
staff are encouraged to think up new and interesting games, based in and around the feature game areas, "the castle of doom",
"the presidential helicopter", "the bridge of despair", "the African bush village", "the army convoy or the rocket launcher".
Our Staff.
We think our staff are great. The girls and guys that work with us have a good sense of fun and all enjoy playing paintball.
We also train them in customer service, safety, basic first aid, paintball games management and tea making. We believe that
our customers are our guests and should be treated accordingly. Our guests find us welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Our Site.
Our site is set on the Bristol channel coast with views out over the channel and over to Wales, the Paintball fields are all
within walking distance from the safe zones and have been carefully designed to give maximum thrills, whilst making sure that
everything is safe.
Accessibility.
We are only 15 minutes from central Bristol and 20 minutes from Weston-super-Mare. The site is situated within 5 minutes
drive from junctions 19 and 20 of the M5 motorway. The M4 motorway crosses the M5 only 8 miles north of j19 and these
motorways bring Swindon, Gloucester, Cardiff, Taunton and Bath all within 40 minutes; London, Birmingham and Exeter within
an hour.

We pride ourselves in the knowledge that our base camp is one of the best in Britain. An essential part of your day - we
have created the ideal base camp for you to rest and recuperate.

Game Zones.
- Rescue The President.
- Air Force One has crashed landed! The president must be led to the safety of an armoured car before enemy assassination teams hunt him down. The route to safety is a dangerous one though, across a heavily guarded bridge and past an enemy barracks. This is one for the tacticians. Oh and yes the president has a gun!
- Tank Convoy.
- Deep in the heart of the woods an enemy convoy has stopped to re-supply. Can you break their perimeter, steal their tank! And destroy their defences. Take care though as they are heavily armed and very well defended.
- Capture The Flag.
- The classic paintball game. You have to fight your way through enemy lines to recover your team "colours" and then return them to your own base, all this whilst the opposing team are trying to do the same. Who will prevail and be victorious?
- Woodland Madness.
- A crazy game that tests your tactics and teamwork to their limits.
- Bomb The Base.
- Two teams, one bomb, two bases. Do you have the bottle to plant the dynamite in the other teams base?
- The Wild West Zone.
- Our Cowboy town features a church, bank, jail and even a barbershop. There are lots of sniper angles and the game plays like a "good old wild-west shoot out" Yee haaa! Team captains even get the chance to test how quick on the draw they are.
- Paintball Rugby.
- Rugger; with a twist! You gain possession not by tackling, but by shooting the other players. To help you survive this mayhem there are barricades all around the field first to score wins. But watch out for an own goal!
- Storm The Castle.
- Fortune favours the brave! And bravery is definitely the order of the day here! With paintballs flying in from all directions, for those defending you'll feel outnumbered. For those on the attack watch out for the battlements and ramparts, and be careful not to get pinned down.
- Sup'AirballTM.
- Play the game the pros play. Dozens of inflatable barricades are carefully placed in an area. This game is fast and furious, with nerve jangling action that really gets the adrenaline pumping.
- Madtrax Racing.
- Race together in our great engine powered, roll-caged racing karts.
- Clay Pigeon Shooting.
- Try your hand at this alternative to shooting people! Shoot at a "rising teal" or a "running rabbit" as well as standard clay shots.
NB: Skirmish's continual re-investment program ensures regular updates to our playing zones with new features coming
on stream all the time. The zones are laid out in grid formation to allow for any two features to be combined to make
a playing zone. This enables certain areas to be left fallow and allow undergrowth to rejuvenate, adding to the realism
of your day and ensuring the maximum of fun. Please note that this means a small number of zone features may not be in
play at certain times.

Frequent Questions.
Q: Do you take kids?
A: Paintball insurance in this country will only allow persons of 12 years and above. We run kids games on Sundays where any adult groups are run separately.
Q: What should I wear?
A: We recommend older clothes and footwear which should be sturdy enough to withstand diving around in woodland. Overalls are provided but any dirt and mud may get through. Please do not wear padded shirts etc. as we have found in the past that players get very hot and become uncomfortable wear these types of padded clothing.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: A bit, but only enough to make you chukle when you shoot your pals. We take very great care to velocity check all our guns EVERY time they are used. For those of you who are technically minded our guns are set at 240 to 250 feet per second.
Q: Do you do discounts for a half day?
A: Our packages are based on the number of paintballs provided and not the amount of time spent with us. Savings on a half day session can be made by not requiring so many paintballs.
Q: I am attending my mates stag party; will there be any kids playing?
A: We always do our best to make sure that there is no mix of adults or kids unless the group themselves are already a mixture of the two.
Q: I have heard you take upto 200 people on your site, isn't that a bit manic?
A: We normally put our groups consisting of up to 50 players in total into games. This means you will play against an opposing team of around 25 people in all. We will of course consider alternate group sizes if requested.
Q: How long are the sessions?
A: We ask our guests to arrive at 10.00am and we usually finish around 4.30pm. Although sessions can be arranged to a groups individual specific requirements.

Locate.
Directions to The Skirmish Bristol Paintball Site.
Approaching from Bristol or the North.
From junction 19 of the M5 take the road to Portishead. At the outskirts of Portishead you will come across a
roundabout, take the left turning towards Clevedon. Follow the Clevedon road for about 2 miles until you see
the signs for the Avon and Somerset Police H.Q. Turn right here and go up Valley Road. At the roundabout outside
the Police H.Q. Turn left and continue up Valley Road. When you come to a 'T' junction, turn left. Our entrance
is just 400 meters down that road on the left. Continue to drive slowly for that last 400 meters as this is where
most people miss our entrance.
Approaching from Weston-super-Mare or the South.
From junction 20 of the M5 turn left into Clevedon from the Motorway roundabout. Take a right at the next roundabout,
(heading for Portishead) and then a left at the next roundabout. At the third roundabout travel right (still heading
for Portishead) and follow this road for a couple of miles through two small villages, until you see the signs for
the Avon and Somerset Police H.Q. Turn left here and go up Valley Road. At the roundabout outside the Police H.Q.
Turn left and continue up Valley Road. When you come to a 'T' junction, turn left. Our entrance is just 400 meters
down that road on the left. Continue to drive slowly for that last 400 meters as this is where most people miss our
entrance.

Contact Details.
If you wish to book your game please either email, phone or use our online booking form. After receiving your
order we will then give you instructions on how to proceed. After provisionally booking we require a deposit of £10 per
player which has to be sent to us at the latest, two weeks before your event. If you are trying to organise an event
within two weeks please phone the office immediately for further instructions. Deposits can be paid in cash in person, by
cheque or by credit/debit card.
Please note: You risk losing your organiser discount if you do not send deposits on time.
